• Don Patinkin has written all but the first four of the 11 essays collected here since publishing the second edition of his Money, Interest, and Prices (1965). The first is the latter's "Mathematical Appendix 11," reprinted with a new postscript. Patinkin maintains that the distinction between stock and flow dimensions is relevant only in a model with continuous time. Period-analysis models cannot contain variables with dimensions of instantaneous time-rates of flow; all variables have dimensions of stock (or, one might add, of lumpsum changes in stock).
