• Mawdsley wrote the definitive bibliography on World War II cruise books in 1993; it contains more than seven hundred entries.5 The bibliography, illustrated by John Charles Roach, internationally known artist, is now in its second edition.6 The Friends of the San Francisco Maritime Museum Library created a 13.5-by-6.5-centimeter bookplate (figure 2) for the Dean Mawdsley World War II Collection.
