Beschreibungen/Notizen
The good news for historians of economic thought and methodologies is that there has been a rise in interest in the area, and that the academic community has developed outlets for this increased research. The growing availability of space in heterodox, field, and international journals provided the means for making research on the history of economic thought and methodology (HET/M) widely available to scholars. The interest of institutionalist, Post Keynesian, and radical journals in publishing HET/M research may help explain the relative disinterest of the general journals. Methodological articles often criticize current approaches and advocate improvement. History of thought articles often address approaches to economics that are not part of the current mainstream, although they may have been respected in their day. The future presence of HET/M in refereed journals may be limited not by diminished interest in the field, but by a shrinking market for the journals that publish this research, although electronic publishing may mitigate the problem.
