Singh discusses the research article "An orthogonal Hilbert-Huang transform and its application in the spectral representation of earthquake accelerograms" by Tian-Li Huang et al. which claims and proposes the three orthogonal EMD algorithms namely the forward, backward and arbitrary sequence orthogonalization using the Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization method, to obtain completely orthogonal IMFs which reduces energy leakage among the IMFs. Applications of these algorithms are also discussed with synthetic data as well as real life the El Centro 1940, N-S earthquake accelerogram data.
