[...]there are multiple reports [2–5] can provide good analgesia for selective major thoracic procedures when epidural anesthesia is contraindicated, or if there are other concerns about administering an epidural. In this case, a 17-year-old, 76.5 kg male with a history of cardiac arrest from catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, was found to have a complete myocardial bridge with significant dynamic stress-induced ischemia of his left anterior descending coronary artery. While our case did not require CPB, this case demonstrated future potential applications for ESP blocks in cardiac surgeries requiring systemic anticoagulation and CPB.Funding This work was funded by departmental resources.Conflict of interest BCH Tsui is a co-inventor of peripheral nerve catheters used in this case.
