• The book of Psalms does not simply set Zion aside, but makes frequent reference to temple worship; further, the attribution of many of its poems to David leads, ultimately, to the traditional ascription of the Psalter as a whole to that paradigmatic king (e.g., Mark 12:36-37//Matt 22:43-45; Rom 4:6). The righteous alone are defined positively and concretely, by their relendess pursuit of Torah. [...] the righteous alone have purpose and destiny: "for the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish" (Ps 1:6).
