ceramics with 12 wt % magnesium additive (BST(M)). It is shown that the rate of temperature change has a substantial effect on the type of ferroelectric hysteresis. Values of the pyroelectric coefficients for BST(M) ceramics in the paraelectric phase ((2–8) × 10

) are determined. It is shown that in the absence of an external electric field, the temperature hysteresis could be due to the pyroelectric effect.
