• This past July the Commission for Racial Equality in Britain recommended that bookstores throughout the United Kingdom remove the comic book Tintin in the Congo from their shelves. The commission said the content of the book contained "hideous racial prejudice." It went on to state that the savage natives depicted in the book "look like monkeys and talk like imbeciles."
