The three television series Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and La Femme Nikita feature strong, proactive women warriors who champion good to the delight of fans. Here, Magoulick comments on the frustrating female heroism portrayed in these films. According to her, these female heroes, conceived of and written mostly by men in a still male-dominated world, present male fantasies and project the status quo more than they fulfill feminist hopes.
