• This comparative study examines arguments developed by Plotinus and by Rāmānuja concerning the possibility of multiplicity in relation to the nature of the One and ultimately nondual Brahman, respectively. It is hoped that some insight is given into both Plotinus' and Rāmānuja's thought on ultimate unity or nonduality, and more generally into the philosophical possibilities of understanding ultimate unity or nonduality.
