- Translation from original language as provided by authorOBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of papaverine in rabbit cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage METHODS:In this study, model of subarachnoid hemorrhage that is established by injecting autologous arterial blood to cisterna magna of unilateral carotid artery ligated rabbit. 72 healthy adult rabbits were divided randomly into 4 groups, and each group was divided into 4 subgroups according to different time points pre-designed with 6 adult rabbits in each subgroup. Group A: sham-operated control group includes subgroup A1, A2, A3, which were raised respectively 24hour, 72hours, 7days after sham operation; Group B: SAH control group, includes subgroup B1, B2, B3, which were raised respectively 24hours, 72hours, 7days after the establishment of SAH model; Group C: SAH+PPV group, included subgroups of C1,C2,C3, which were raised respectively 24hours, 72hours, 7days after the establishment of SAH+PPV model; Group D:SAH+PPV gelfoam (sustained-release
