  • Translation from original language as provided by authorWith the development of microelectronics, computing and wireless communication technology, low-power and multi-function sensors gain rapid evolution and sensor networks are being applied widely in all kinds of applications. Routing in a sensor network is a vital and fundamental problem in wireless sensor networks, and has great influence on performance of the entire network. The 2-disjoint multipath routing algorithm called Colored Trees(Red and Blue), aiming to solve mutipath routing problem, is an efficient approach to route packets along node-disjoint paths from any node to the sink in WSNs, thus improve the robustness and throughput of networks. A new layer-based 2-disjoint multipath routing algorithm is presented for large-scale WSNs in this paper, which can be used to construct a multipath routing structure using only local information and requires lesser messages when computing the trees and thus to save the energy consumption of sensor communicat
