Embedded Flash memory is a key technology in smart card IC design. The performance and cost of smart card IC highly rely on the eFlash used in chip. This paper introduces eFlash's history, working foundation, classify, technology trends and performance, as well as eFlash IP's knowledge. Using eFlash in ICs could gain a lot of advantages, such as higher data transfer speed and lower package cost.
