(The museum was set up during the period of the perestroika in the former Soviet Union, with the assistance of the local Ukrainian population; the patronage and financial support of the Polish University was a gesture of appreciation of this fact.) A previous study tour took place in Ukraine in 2006. [...]deep gratitude is to be expressed, not just by participants of Professor Krajka's study tour, but by all Conradians, for the fundamental service this tour performs in its role of reinforcing the international relationships that need to stay in place if these Conrad landmarks (the "footprints") are to remain accessible, let alone there, for future generations.
