Beschreibungen/Notizen
Healthcare associated infections (HAI) are the fifth leading cause of death in the United States; annually accounting for over 700,000 infections, 75,000 deaths, and a direct medical cost burden of over $45 billion. Risk assessment models can be used to predict patient exposures to infectious microbes and evaluate infection control intervention impacts and return on investment (ROI). We present here the use of baseline data and literature review for the development a model evaluating the impact of hand hygiene (HH) compliance increases and the associated return on investment (ROI).
