• Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia) is a multidrug-resistant Gram-negative organism with the ability to survive for prolonged periods in the environment. In early 2014, six percent of patients in a single Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were identified as being colonized or infected with B. cepacia. We describe the outbreak investigation and bundle of interventions employed to control further spread.
