• This paper proposes a method of analysing work communication in order to study the cooperative mechanisms involved in verbal interactions, and their specific function, namely, shaping the operators' representations. The point of view adopted here is constructivist. Experienced events are only part of the basis of knowledge construction; people also build their knowledge on the basis of interactions with others. In accordance with the preceding viewpoint, the method is based on work analysis and a theory of the relationships between components of the successive utterances of the participants, in other words the interlocutionary logic. This theory, its relevance in analysing verbal exchanges in cooperative situations, and the method stemming from it are presented and illustrated by means of a verbal exchange between operators. This example concerns communications between nuclear power plant supervisors during a shift changeover. The analysis shows that the two operators are reasoning together, cooperatively. In so doing, a shared functional representation concerning the diagnosis and the most likely location of a malfunction is built through dialogue between the two operators. This type of analysis points out the relevance of approaches that integrate pragmatics into the description, analyses, and modelling of the operators y collective natural reasoning. Moreover, the results show that shift changeover is not only an information transfer, but also that verbal exchanges allow cooperative problem solving as well as improvement in the operator expertise. Cet article propose une méthode d'analyse des communications de travail permettant d'étudier les mécanismes coopératifs en jeu lors de ces interactions verbales, et d'accéder à la capacité de ces échanges à faire évoluer les représentations d'opérateurs en coprésence. La méthode, développée à partir d'une conception constructiviste de l'acquisition de connaissances, s'appuie sur l'analyse du travail et sur une théorie des relations entre composants des énonciations successives des interlocuteurs, la logique interlocutoire. Cette théorie, son intérêt pour l'analyse des échanges verbaux en situation coopérative, et la méthode d'analyse à laquelle elle donne lieu, sont présentés dans un premier temps. L'application de cette méthode à des échanges verbaux de deux chefs de bloc d'une chaufferie nucléaire en situation de relève de poste est ensuite illustrée à travers un exemple. L'analyse met en évidence que les deux opérateurs raisonnent ensemble, coopérative ment, ce qui leur permet de se construire une représentation fonctionnelle partagée d'un dysfonctionnement. Ces analyses soulignent l'intérêt des approches qui accordent une place à la pragmatique linguistique, pour l'analyse et la modélisation du raisonnement collectif naturel d'opérateurs en interaction.
