Because the show treats its location as a function of social relations, and specifically as an environment of class and racial disequilibrium, its tone is in striking contrast to more commercially successful regional Canadian shows like Da Vinci's Inquest, Trailer Park Boys, and Corner Gas.30 McCollough draws particular attention to the way Corner Gas occupies a rural Prairies space in which First Nations peoples are largely absent, but also notes how reading Corner Gas and Moccasin Flats against one another forces a reevaluation of their shared spaces: 'The contrast between these two images ... is the legacy of colonial rule on the Prairies.'31 Reading Corner Gas and Moccasin Flats in this way is complicated by the appearance of Little Mosque in the same geopolitical space.
