With the rapid growth of the web application systems, the web UI system becomes more complicated. The traditional development paradigm, implementing UI by coding, requires programming techniques which narrows the develop tasks to programmers. Besides, coding is formal and has strict rules, it not suitable for changing quickly in nature, and often leads to poor maintainability. These limitations are more significant in large scale Web application system. Many researches have been trying to solve this problem and offer a simple approach to build a change on demand Web UI system. This paper first introduces the purpose and importance of a flexible and maintainable Web UI framework, summarizes the status of the domestic and abroad researches, and a new Web UI framework, declarative based interaction engine, is proposed to solve the Web UI maintainability problem.
