The current EPC project cost control method mainly pays attention to the actual expense of each stage separately rather than from the whole view. As a result, it fails to reflect the superiority of minimizing the life cycle cost through taking design as the first consideration in EPC project, which leads to the outcome of partially expense optimized but not totally. This paper analyzed the differences in cost control methods between EPC project and tradition project systematically. It was stated that the cost control of EPC not only concerned the expense occurring at each stage but also their influence on the total cost of the project. The research tasks of this paper were as follows: Firstly, the applied expense control model of EPC project was studied.
