The elements of Cr, Ni are added generally in order to improve the corrosion resistance of WC-based cemented carbide- However, the effect mechanism of Cr on the performances of the alloy is still not understood clearly- In this paper, based on WC-(CoNiCr), the influence of different quantities of Cr in the binder on mechanical performances and corrosion resistance of the alloy were studied detailedly- The microstructure of the cemented carbide added with Cr was observed by metalloscope and the density was determined using drainage- The mechanical performances of cemented carbide obtained such as hardness and transverse-rupture strength were tested by Rockwell apparatus and 3-point bending method respectively- The experimental results showed that the crystal size of the alloy was fined but specific crystal grew abnormally with small addition of Cr (<7wt%)- With increasing of Cr addition, the microstructure became homogeneous and the crystal was fined obviously- At the amount of Cr addition near 18wt%, the crys
