Beschreibungen/Notizen
  • In late 1968, on the eve of the publication of Portnoy's Complaint (1969), Peterson, a freelance photographer of prominent figures and celebrities, was contracted by Life Magazine to follow Roth around Manhattan, as well as accompany him on a tour of his old Weequahic neighborhood and the Yaddo artist colony, where Roth had spent much of the past several years. Contributing to the roundtable were representatives from the Don DeLillo, Cormac McCarthy, Toni Morrison, Philip Roth, and John Updike Societies, and during this session, the discussants explored the significance of these five authors in the current literary landscape. [...]narrative theorist Frederick Luis Aldama considers a novella that has received relatively little critical attention, Indignation (2008).
