The experiences of working as a migrant domestic worker (MDW) in Hong Kong during the COVID-19 pandemic exhibit the intersections of race, gender, and economic and immigration mobility within a highly precarious and exploitable system of labor. The interviews conducted by migrant solidarity committee, autonomous 8a, illustrate not only the sometimes-paradoxical imbrications of care and frustration but also the rewarding and enduring human connections that take place within the fraught space of the private sphere as workplace.
