• The "Specificity" research group has developed a research method to identify specific elements of a psychoanalytic treatment, and the unfolding of a treatment, to serve as a "tool" for the investigation and assessment of the treatment's evolution and its effects. We use the group situation to discuss clinical presentations to examine the analytic method and how it works. We identified and explored processes that are at work in most clinical groups and also in our research group: those of replica, diffraction, weaving of thoughts, regression movements, acts, and enactment. All these processes help to bring out the unconscious dynamic at work in the analysis presented. The modalities of these clinical group exchanges constitute not simply an organizational problem but a territory of psychoanalysis itself, a new field of psychoanalytic investigation.
