• This chapter explores emerging considerations of the dick pic outside of the moral panics, harm, and pathology models. It provides reparative readings of the dick pic by considering the dick pic through three different framings. The first framing of the grotesque explores data from Were You Sent a Dick Pic You Didn't Want and how the dick pic can be an exemplar of Bakhtin's concept of the grotesque. The second framing explores men's experiences of vulnerability through their production of dick pics for the Reddit community r/softies, which features dick pics of soft or semi-hard penises. The last framing erotic looks at data from Critique My Dick Pic, examining how dick pics are reconceptualised as sexually desirable and artistic. Using these framings, reparative readings demonstrate alternative ways of thinking about and theorising meanings and contexts behind the dick pic.
