• The steel-making process does not generate a large volume of wastewater. However, waste in the form of slag is massively produced. Slag management in a sustainable manner is a major issue that the industry faces. Attempts to reutilize these waste materials all around the world have yielded successful results to date, such that, in some of these attempts, they even surpassed their intended use as blend or replacement materials and became serious rivals to their industrial counterparts. Various ways to reutilize these waste materials have been explored to date, including construction, water treatment, road pavement, and a number of comparatively more value-added applications. The chapter discusses the overview of the wastes generated in the steelmaking process. A case study is included so as to know the practicality of utilization of steelmaking waste in a real scenario.
