• Both of these methods are based on an artificial small parameter that will be introduced into the given problem, and the solution to the problem is taken in the form of a power series in terms of this artificial parameter. The advantage in these methods is that the artificial parameter can be chosen so that it is almost possible to find solutions to any given nonlinear problem. Thus, these methods in a way satisfyprinciple (i), but principle (ii) continues to fail, as illustrated in some of the examples shown in the subsequent sections.
