Beschreibungen/Notizen
This study is the first national survey of forensic psychologists regarding their practices and attitudes toward participating in various types of capital evaluations. Participants were 231 licensed forensic psychologists who voluntarily responded to a mailed survey. A predictive model for levels of opposition and patterns of participation for each type of capital evaluation was determined, as well as were general levels of agreement with a number of professional "guidelines." The results of this study suggest that although most psychologists are not opposed to participating in most types of capital evaluations, competence for execution evaluations receive the greatest amount of opposition. Implications of these results are discussed.
