• 연구목적: 본 연구는 폐경기 여성을 대상으로 현재 폐경에 대한 지식과 폐경 관리 정도 확인 및 지식과 관리간의 상관관계를 규명하기 위해 시도되었다. 연구재료 및 방법: 2010년 12월 한 달간 3개 종합병원에 내원한 폐경기 여성 211명을 대상으로 설문 조사하였다. 설문 내용은 대상자의 일반적 특성 및 폐경 관련 특성, 폐경 지식, 폐경 관리에 대한 내용이었고 SPSS 18.0으로 분석하여 폐경 지식 및 관리 정도를 확인하고, 지식과 관리의 상관관계 및 관리에 영향을 미치는 변수를 확인 하였다. 결과: 폐경기 여성의 86%는 폐경에 대한 교육을 받지 못한 것으로 나타났고 폐경에 대한 교육 요구도는 높았다 (92%). 또한 병원 (의료진)으로부터 정보를 얻은 대상자가 폐경 지식이나 관리 정도에서 모두 높은 수준이었다. 여성의 폐경 지식과 관리에서는 높은 상관관계를 보였으며 (P < 0.01) 폐경 관리를 설명하는 변수는 폐경 지식, 폐경 유무, 폐경 교육으로 설명력은 20.5%였다. 결론: 폐경기 여성은 폐경에 대한 교육을 원하고 있으며, 의료진의 정보를 신뢰하며 의료진은 그들의 부족한 지식의 항목을 고려한 교육적 지지를 제공해야 할 것으로 생각된다. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to understand what peri-menopausal women know in order to enhance peri-menopausal management. Methods: Data collection was performed in December 2010. A total of 211 peri-menopausal women in Seoul and City S, Gyeonggido were surveyed using a convenience sample. Collected data was analyzed using SPSS. Results: We found that 86% of peri-menopausal women had not received any health education on menopause and 92% of peri-menopausal women wanted more education about menopause. Women who acquired relevant information from a hospital (or medical staff) had high levels of knowledge and care of their menopause. Also, it was found that there was a high correlation between postmenopausal women`s knowledge and menopause management (r = 0.75, P = 0.01). A regression model of the factors that affect menopausal management consisted of menopausal knowledge, menopausal status and menopausal education, with these factors explaining 20.5% of variance. Conclusion: Systematic efforts and education are necessary to empower menopausal women in the management of their menopause.
