This article shows the main trends in contemporary Belarusian historiography: the changing of paradigm, which reflects the struggle of various orientations and points of view on the question of the heritage of the Soviet historical science. Great significance for the understanding of contemporary changes have studies on external factors, foreign concepts, sources of national historiography (20th century) and the succession of the Russian historical thought (e.g. the anthropological approach). The national concept of historiography and historical education was developed under the difficult conditions of Soviet reality. In the early 1990s, it began to be taken into account in textbooks and historical reseach. Micro-history, particularly the history of everyday life, has marked this further development, leading to significant achievements of new approaches. (Orig.).
