• Discusses the multimedia performance work 'Firefall' by the American artist and playwright John Jesurun (2009; illus.). The author notes that the play is activated with the use of the Internet throughout the performance. She describes the physical setup of the work and the eight characters presented virtually and in person, analyses the role of the website as an archive, and analyses the play's textual strategy in particular in relation to the interplay between the physical and virtual. She explains her term for these strategies, "mediaturgy", and explores the work in relation to recent shifts in the conception of speech in the theatre.
