In this article the author develops an epistemological framework for the second way of how to make a good and sound decision as Ignatius developed it in the Spiritual Exercises. The question that is attempted to answer is: How can spiritual emotions like consolation and desolation, or inner joy, love, peace, sadness, etc. be adequate epistemic grounds for moral beliefs, that is, for beliefs concerning what is for a person the right course of action in a given situation. In questo articolo l'autore sviluppa una cornice epistemologica per la seconda via del modo in cui prendere una buona e giusta decisione, così come Ignazio l'ha sviluppata negli Esercizi Spirituali. Il problema, cui si tenta di dare una risposta, è in che modo le emozioni spirituali, come la consolazione e la desolazione, o la gioia, l'amore, la pace, la tristezza, etc. possono essere fondamenti epistemici adeguati per le credenze che riguardano ciò che, per una persona, è il giusto corso di un'azione in una data situazione.
