Breiding investigates the elaborate carvings on a 15th-century wooden crossbow with ivory and horn inlays, made for Ulrich V, Count of Württemberg. Although crossbows were widely used during a 200 year period, this weapon is only of the only remaining ones whose decoration clearly denotes both the owner and the year of manufacture.
