• In the following pages there is outline of the calendrical system, some explana tion of its technicalities, and (because it is not easy going) some worked examples of how the data in the Ephemeris can be manipulated to yield the values one might be seeking. The calendrical system of the regions for which the following tables have been prepared, which include Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, is what is known as luni-solar; that is, its reckoning is obliged to take account of the moon’s motions as well as the sun’s.
