- Not only does absolute power permeate social relations; it also saturates the objective relation to work. It shapes the content and course of activities. Terror is not a marginal condition of the work situation, but constitutes its very core. A sociological pathology of prisoner labor must proceed from this fact: in the concentration camp, work too was terror.
