  • Post-war refugees comprised the third and most recent wave of Ukrainian immigration to Canada.¹ The previous two groups had consisted chiefly of economic immigrants from Western Ukraine (Austria-Hungary before the First World War and Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Romania between the wars).
