- In his brief statement about the Franco-Austrian relationship, the European Enlightenment intellectual, Johann Daniel Schöpflin (or Jean Daniel Schoepflin), “Professeur D’Histoire et D’Eloqu. Membre de L’Académie Royale des belles Lettres en France, et de la Société Royale en Angleterre” wrote: “Four queens issued from the house of Austria brought to the throne of France all the graces and virtues of their sex.
