• For long-service workers, employment mobility or permanent relocation was understood to be a last resort in the months and years that followed the December 2002 closure of the Sturgeon Falls mill. This chapter offers both a sustained reflection on spatial and relational stances interviewees took in narrating their life stories in the immediate aftermath of deindustrialization and a contribution to the study of employment mobility in an increasingly post-industrial era.
