By constructivism I understand a heterogeneous number of theoretical approaches from a variety of disciplines (biology, neurophysiology, cybernetics, psychology) which share the following assumption: ''The perception of the world - in all its variety - is the result of inner processes'' (Baraldi et al., 1998, p. 100), that is the result of processes in the nerve cells, in organisms, in the psychic apparatus, in phantasy systems. Several further factors and psychoanalytic concepts which are central to analytic theory and practice have the character of constructions and are thus various forms of construction: for example, ''inherited schemata'' (Freud, SE 17, p. 119), ''primal phantasies'' (SE 16, p. 371), ''Sexual theories of children'' (SE 16, p. 371), pre-conception, conception, unconscious phantasy, repetition pattern, screen memory (SE 3, p. 320) and, in addition, transference,1 countertransference, interpretation and reconstruction.
