• "The anticipated restoration work at the cathedral of Reims ... included the disengagement of the Porte romane from the walled-in west arch opening of the north transept. The demolition of the wall that sealed the opening is now complete, and the long-hidden Porte romane has been brought to light and, one may add, to the admiration of the public. The materials of the demolished wall revealed that the blockage had been made with debris from a former cloister that had been taken down probably toward the end of the fifteenth century, when modifications were undertaken around the cathedral... .
