• This chapter discusses emptiness in psychology. It begins with a review of past reflections on emptiness in the West and the East. In many cases, it has been thought that emptiness is traced to nihilism in the West and to enlightenment and fulfillment in the East. However, the lack of psychological subjectivity in the East had transformed emptiness into fulfillment. In modern times, even in the East, emptiness does not lead to fulfillment. In the final section, the case of anxiety neurosis presents the possibility of a new relationship with emptiness in the present day. It’s the circumambulation as psychological inner movement
