Selenium (Se) is an essential element for human beings and animals. Different selenium-enriched agricultural products have different Se-enriched standards, and the regulation of Se content has always been a research hotspot. The development of Se-enriched agricultural products is the most popular and effective way to meet human nutritional needs for Se. Concentrations of Se in rice roots and shoots were significantly influenced by different kinds and levels of hormones. The highest Se concentration was found in the single Se treatment. The average concentration of Se in roots and shoots was 60.08 mg/kg and 9.42 mg/kg in the gibberellic acid treatment group, respectively. In the brassinolide (BL) treatment group, all treatments decreased the Se content. With an increasing level of BL, the Se content in rice roots and shoots gradually decreased. The Salicylic acid and methyl jasmonate may be useful for reducing Se levels in rice, if Se content in rice exceeds rice consumption standard.
