  • The analysis of the effectiveness of the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education requires processing data collected in environments that mediate learning. Educational Process Mining (EPM) makes it possible to map students' learning paths in the course based on data recorded in Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) logs. The input for EPM is an event log in which each event corresponds to some action performed by students on course content, and each student is represented by an ordered set of events named Trace. Process models are discovered based on Traces. However, instructional materials must be correctly linked in the course environment so that interaction data is not unrecorded. This paper aims to present guidelines for planning data collection in courses mediated by VLE to obtain more detailed and precise information through the EPM.
