High voltage direct current transmission (HVDC) has been widely used in China in recent years due to its advantages of large transmission capacity, long distance, and low cost. It is significant to establish models for harmonic analysis in HVDC system. The switching function is used to get DC side harmonic voltage source, and the leakage inductance of transformer in both rectifier and inverter stations is equivalent to the DC side. A DC side harmonic equivalent calculation circuit for 6/12-pulse HVDC system is proposed accordingly. Using the simulation examples built in PSCAD/EMTDC, the correctness of the proposed model is verified.
