  • The importance of the distribution network gains more attention due to the development of the smart grid and the renewable energy. A method to guarantee the radial structure of the distribution network reconfiguration schemes is proposed in this paper based on the features of the network. The self-own switches of each circle are proposed. The switch that is going to be opened during the iteration is selected in random from the closed switches of circles, which can ensure the optimal scheme. The operation of the self-own switch can guarantee the radial structure of the network. Furthermore, the proposed method can handle networks with different structures effectively, including the circle with circle. The results with IEEE33 and IEEE69 tested system demonstrate that the proposed method can find the optimal solution of the distribution network reconfiguration effectively. Meanwhile, the infeasible structures are avoided.
