We study simultaneous switching noise caused in high frequency signals propagating in the signal line, while interacting with the ground and power planes. In this paper, we elucidate the influence of the shape of the ground or power plane on signals both theoretically and experimentally. We derive the transport equations for the potential and current in the two-dimensional conductor system starting from the Maxwell equations. We perform experiments to measure the electric signals of two dimensional conductor systems and reproduce the experimental signal patterns using the two-dimensional transport equations.
