Simulated Moving Bed (SMB) process belongs to hybrid nonlinear system. Because the hybrid variables of simulated moving bed process are difficult to measure, the closed-loop control of this process has been difficult to solve. The state observer problem is very complex because the physical SMB model exhibits the infinite state dimension of distributed-parameter systems with switching initial conditions and cyclic boundary conditions. This paper proposes a solution that is based on the balance diffusion model designing nonlinear state observer reconstruction concentration variables and theoretically proving the stability of the observation. The simulation study shows that the export concentration of simulated moving bed system with nonlinear observer is expected to reach. It has some help to further design control scheme.
