  • The software industry is becoming more and more important and complex, requiring the software organizations to invest on the quality of their software processes. The Requirement Engineering is one of the disciplines that can help the software organizations to deal with this scenario, specially defining initiatives that can improve the requirements elicitation and analysis activities. To collaborate with this context and considering the relevance of the human resources to the development of software, we carried out a survey to identify and rate personal skills necessary for requirement analysts to perform their tasks effectively. The respondents of the questionnaire were project managers, who evaluated thirty-three personal skills captured from the literature. Besides, we accomplished a comparison of the results obtained on the survey with the literature. The result of this work may be used as a guideline for recruiting, selecting and for carry out performance evaluations of requirement analysts.
