This paper introduces the establishment of a set of experimental model, stating its operating principles and collection of data in experiment, and roughly analyzing the results. Commonly, for our close-loop-self-circulating (CLSC) evaporative cooling hydro-generator, the hollow conductors with rectangular cross sections are used and equivalent to conductors with circular cross sections when doing flow and heat transfer calculation. The starting point of this experiment is to grasp the exact differences between them. So, this experiment model is used to make comparison between circular tubes and rectangular tubes with the same hydraulic diameter and nearly same circulating cross section respectively from two aspects of flowing characteristic and thermal characteristic. The experiment is done with CFC-113 as the receivable coolant used in laboratory. Through it, the quantitative differences of maximal thermal loads and circulating fluxes between circular tubes and rectangular tubes can be determined. At the same time, the differences of temperature distribution at the ultimate thermal load between circular and rectangular tubes can be shown. The significance of this experiment consists in it making us have a quantitative grasp of the differences between rectangular tube and circle tube and it making the design calculation of the hydro-generator with the stator bar inner evaporative cooling more accurate than ever.
