  • Based on the principles of aerodynamic and thermodynamic, this paper presents a novel method to implement integrated performance analysis for counter-rotating turbine (CRT) and counter-rotating propfan (CRP) of direct drive propfan engine. According to the structure and features of directed-driven propfan engine, a steady-state component-level model of directed-driven propfan engine is established which is capable to simulate performance behaviors. Referring to the data from Cranfield University, the results show the off-design point simulation is able to accurately simulate the performance behaviors in the flight envelope. Above work verifies the effectiveness of the engine modeling methodology. Moreover, this paper studies the integrated performance behaviors of counterrotating turbine and counter-rotating propfan to analyze the coupling relations of aerodynamic and mechanical, as well as the regulation of propfan incidence angle in variety of operating state. Above efforts enrich the theory of aeroengine simulation modeling and provide a reference for propfan engine control schedule design as well.
